Hamburg's Eppendorf district is one of the most chic districts of Hamburg. Art nouveau buildings, terraced houses and numerous brick villas surrounded by ivy give Eppendorf an incomparable flair. The Dorint Hotel Hamburg-Eppendorf impresses with its clear modern furnishing style. It offers 195 guest rooms including 14 suites. Three rooms are handicapped accessible. There is also a 400 square meter event area with up to six conference rooms. "Local companies in particular are among our target groups" explains hotel director Andreas Rühlicke. The hotel's own restaurant "EPPO" has 125 seats as well as a bar and an outside terrace. A varied cuisine with many regional products is offered. The offer is supplemented by a public underground car park with 204 parking spaces. The hotel's own work-out and fitness area provides relaxation for hotel guests.
The four-star city hotel is located on a former 3,000 square metre site of the university hospital, which with its modern research and teaching facilities forms the medical centre of the Hanseatic city. A specialist clinic with 80 doctors located in the adjoining building can be reached from the first and second floors of the hotel via a glazed connecting bridge. The hotel is characterised by three buildings of different heights: a six-storey building that accommodates the height of the specialist clinic, a four-storey area along Martinistraße and a one-storey conference area enclosed by the higher buildings. The design of the façade follows the idea of upscale living in the traditional Wilhelminian style quarter of Eppendorf.
Three seals of approval in one fell swoop
The four-star hotel has been awarded three certificates and is described as the ideal hotel for business travellers, a professional conference hotel and an ecologically future-oriented hotel: "Certified Business Hotel", "Certified Conference Hotel" and "Certified Green Hotel".
Since 2001, the Association of German Travel Management (VDR) has awarded the "Certified Business Hotel" certificate to hotels that are particularly suitable for business travellers. The award is intended to provide planning security when booking hotels. "Certified Conference Hotels" are houses that fulfil certain structural conditions and optimally handle the entire process of event management - from enquiry to invoicing. In addition, the Dorint Hotel Hamburg-Eppendorf is managed sustainably and ecologically future-oriented, as the VDR stated. This seal of approval is awarded to hotels that score highly in the areas of energy, water, waste, food and drink, mobility, social responsibility as well as information and responsible behaviour.
